Dubai Police have issued a warning to motorists who engage in risky behaviours

Dubai Police have issued a warning to motorists who engage in risky behaviours such as protruding their head or any body part out of the window; sitting on the roof or the sunroof while the vehicle is in motion. These actions will result in a fine, black points, and the vehicle being seized for a certain period. The authority reported that five people were injured last year after falling from moving vehicles. They also recorded 1,183 violations and impounded 707 vehicles whose drivers were driving “in a way that jeopardized their own safety and the safety of others.”

The police said that drivers who commit these offences will face a 2,000 AED fine, 23 black points, and the vehicle being impounded for 60 days. Moreover, the owner will have to pay another Dh50,000 to retrieve the impounded vehicle.
